Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, a preservative that inhibits bacterial growth. It is used to reconstitute lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides, and the preservative allows a vial to be accessed more than once. Each multi-dose vial holds 10 mL.
